Consultation

You will first meet with one of our dentists at our office in McLean, VA, to review your dental history, discuss your symptoms, and determine your candidacy for this dental procedure.

Remove Infected Tissue

During your appointment, Dr. Han will place the PerioLase laser in the periodontal pocket, where it will gently eliminate diseased gum tissue and infection-causing bacteria to promote healing.

Remove Tartar

Your periodontist will use scaling techniques to remove tartar buildup from your teeth, allowing for better gum reattachment.

Gum Reattachment

The effects of the laser stimulate the formation of a blood clot, which will allow the gum to reattach to the tooth root, keeping the tooth firmly in place.

At-Home Care

Once your treatment with our dentist is complete, you can return home. It's imperative that you follow a good oral hygiene routine that involves brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing once a day, and using mouthwash to prevent a recurrence of gum disease.
